We are your Democratic candidates running for the Village of Pelham Manor Board of Trustees.  We will bring:

• • BETTER SAFETY FOR OUR FAMILIES. We need a comprehensive, data-driven approach to traffic and pedestrian safety, with better communication, thoughtful street design, and appropriate enforcement.  We also need to chase grant money for policy technology upgrades to keep our dedicated law enforcement officers armed with better tech than increasingly sophisticated criminals.  

• • BETTER VISION FOR OUR FUTURE. Pelham Manor’s last comprehensive plan dates to 1979—the oldest of any village in Westchester. We need modern strategic and capital plans that ask where we want the Manor to be five, ten and twenty years from now, identify the infrastructure and services we’ll need to get there, and put real numbers behind those priorities to optimize how our tax dollars are invested, without taxing more.   

• • BETTER FLOOD MITIGATION. The Highbrook project is welcome progress, but the Village’s own engineers modeled that improvement to prevent surcharging only through a one-year storm event and only if the blockage under Glover field is fixed (there’s been no progress on that issue). Important work around Monroe Street and Mount Tom continues to move slowly from study to design to construction. We must be protecting residents against the storms of today and tomorrow, not yesterday.
