The Pelham Democratic Committee, which is the local branch of the Democratic party, is always looking for people interested in serving as District Leaders. Each of Pelham's ten election districts is represented by two leaders. Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.


A Pelham Democratic County Committee Member will work with the Committee in order to:

  1. Engage and build community with local Democrats, including in-person outreach to all Democrats in our Districts outside of specific candidate races, and data collection therefrom;

  2. Help eligible voters vote, register to vote or vote absentee, and encourage non-aligned voters to vote the Democratic line;

  3. Recruit and support local candidates for office, collecting petitions to place their names on the ballot and campaigning for them among local residents, and representing the concerns of local residents to candidates;

  4. Inform the public about issues of concern to Democrats.


Qualifications for a Pelham Democratic County Committee Member are:

  1. Willingness/availability to canvass and campaign on behalf of candidates and issues;

  2. Willingness/availability to attend monthly meetings to determine and advance Committee goals, and participate in other Committee and community events supported by the Committee;

  3. A background demonstrating a commitment to Democratic principles and/or volunteerism;

  4. The ability to work cooperatively, so as to be a positive reflection on the Party.


Any resident living and registered to vote as a Democrat in the Town of Pelham is eligible for this leadership opportunity. Consideration will be given to residents living closest to the district represented. Please contact for more information or to submit your name for consideration.
